Hotel Californian
Santa Barbara, CA
Hotel Californian, which has also been referred to as Entrada de Santa Barbara, is a 248,000 square foot, 121-room, 4-star luxury hotel. Located steps from the beach, the original Hotel Californian was built in 1925 and went through an extensive 240 million dollar reconstruction and expansion. To preserve some of the hotel's history, the façade of the original 1925 Hotel Californian was held in place while the rest of the hotel was demolished. It was then re-engineered, reinforced and connected to the newly built portions of the hotel structure. Amongst the other portions of our work on this project, a distinctive part of it involved the replacement of the existing façade' false juliette balconies, which were too deteriorated to save. Meridian Precast supplied exact replications of these complete balcony systems all the way down to the original texture.
