Joseph Jensen Water Treatment Plant
Granada Hills, CA
The 125 acre Joseph Jensen Water Treatment Plant is located in Granada Hills, CA and distributes water to the San Fernando Valley, Ventura County, West Los Angeles, Santa Monica and the Palos Verdes Peninsula. It is the Metropolitan's largest treatment plant and the largest west of the Mississippi River, with a capacity of 750 million gallons a day. The scope of this project involved Seismic Upgrades to the Plant's Administration building which resulted in the existing Precast Concrete Column Covers from the early 1970's, having to be removed. The design intent was to have them replaced with GFRC Column Covers with the same size, shape and profile, except with a new color and finish texture. Meridian Precast Inc completed this project in January of 2010.
